In some cases photoshoots have not always been possible, so at times I have been given the challenge to adapt stock lifestyle images to promote a product. The two lifestyle images below are manipulated stock photos for Monitor Audio's SoundFrame series.
I found two key challenges when preparing images like this: lighting and perspective. I would recommend drawing perspective lines along wall edges, or other key details on a guide layer to help calculate the vanishing point. Lighting was a case of assessing all light sources, how defined are nearby shadows? How subtle?
Lastly a more straightforward recolouring: The white frame on a near-white background wasn't doing the product justice. I pathed out the frame and recoloured the wall to help it stand out (whilst still keeping subtle wall texture and shadows).
